Busted Brackets...

I was sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings in Roseville with Rucker on Saturday night taking in the UCLA-Memphis tilt, basking in the glory of my still intact UCLA-UNC Championship possibility when the wheels came off the 2008 Aaron Steele NCAA bracket. Memphis rolled on UCLA, and Kansas rolled on UNC, setting up tonights Championship game that should be high-flying. I really thought that UCLA had the half-court game and the clamp-down defense that could slow Memphis's gongshow on steroids attack. For some reason, Kevin Love hardly touched the ball in the second half, which is asinine considering that Joey Dorsey was in foul trouble, and Love has been such a gamer this tournament. The freshmen from Oregon had carried UCLA on his very capable shoulders through the first four rounds of basketball, but Saturday night he looked like a 2001 Ford Taurus trying to keep up at Talledega with the way Memphis flies around the court.

So in the end, I lost my bracket, a $50 friendly wager with Rucker, and my feeling of a "healthy Saturday" that I had going for me after a nice afternoon run was ruined by 6 beers and some buffalo wings.
