I am not one of those people that is constantly bashing SNL, and recalling the good old days of this cast or that cast. I think that what they are doing right now is actually really funny. Also, if you notice, each cast that has ever been assembled has been widely considered a flop while actually on air, only to be considered hilarious after they left. When Farley, Sandler, and Spade were on in the early 90's many longed for the nights of Carvey, Lovitz, and Nealon. Will Ferrell and his crew took over in the mid 90's and the ratings plummeted. There was even speculation the long-running sketch show would be cancelled during the Ferrell years...and now he's the biggest comedic star in the world.
